Today the AIP #WednesdayWisdom series presents the burial record of Nina Eleanor Watts Gordon. The official records discovered so far indicate that Nina was the first born child of Samuel Carey Gordon and Anne Cecilia Caroline Watts. Sadly, as with many other previous discoveries, Nina had a very short life (1882-1887).

The confirmed Nina’s death as 9 August 1887, aged 5, and burial date 9 August 1887 at Jubbulpore, Bengal, India. The cause of death is recorded as Diphtheria.
Diphtheria is a highly contagious and potentially fatal infection that can affect the nose and throat, and sometimes the skin. NHS 2018
The record further confirms Nina’s mother as Mrs A. Gordon – which provides an extra validation that this is the same Nina Eleanor Watts Gordon as previously found.
