Watch the special episode where we talk about India’s tiger estimation process. This is a massive exercise undertaken by India, the only country in the world that carries out such a process, at this scale. The Estimation process involves thousands of forests guards, NGO workers, researchers and volunteers who spread out into tiger reserves across the country collecting data, setting up camera traps and monitoring movement. The information and data collected is then sent to the Wildlife Institute of India, where the final tiger estimates are arrived at.
