This post is part of the Anglo-Indian Project Christmas series 2016.

One of the most valuable Anglo-Indian resources I have come across so far has been the book: ‘The Anglo-Indians, A 500-Year History’ by S. Mutiah and H. MacLure.
The text provides an essential resource to understanding the development of the Anglo-Indian community from it’s ‘birth’ in 1498 to the modern day. I cannot recommend this book enough, it has provided me with invaluable insight into the origins of the Anglo-Indians, their community, context, culture and growth.
A more detailed article about the book can be found here, as well as commentary from the authors.
